Car Wash!

It has been a really nice week weather-wise, so we’ve gotten a lot done! AND we picked up our bikes and Thayne did some repairs so we can ride as a little family! We’re waiting on Audrey’s helmet, but then we’ll hit the trails!

Thayne washed his car the other day and it was nice enough, we put Audrey in her suit. She really liked “helping” but didn’t last too long before her afternoon nap. Thayne got his car cleaned inside and out, though.

The semester is almost over (FINALLY!). Sarah has about 5 more tests (in two classes, get that.) and then summer freedom! Can’t wait. Too bad the fall will come eventually. At least there is an end in sight and the “School as a career” is slowly veering out of sight.

Pretty much nothing else happens around here. We play all day besides the naps and wonderful hot-dog lunches, sleep all night, and then there’s work, School and Thea’s for babysitting. Aunt Lia spends a lot of time at our house now, which Audrey seems to really enjoy. It is fun to see her actually recognizing people and getting excited to see them.

Not long until vacation! The countdown begins…

She just keeps growing

and growing, and growing! Audrey is close to walking all alone full-time now! She falls a lot still, but she’ll walk anywhere. We taught her to climb stairs at grandpa’s house!

At our last appointment, the doctor told us she needed to learn to climb stairs, stack blocks, say a few more words…and we need to get her off the bottle. She has been stacking blocks for awhile, but she’s getting much better at it. Her aim is more on target!
Audrey is pretty good at the sippy cup, but sometimes at night she’ll take a bottle for bed. Otherwise, that’s going alright as well! We are glad she finally out-grew that milk allergy thing!
Audrey finally reached 20 lbs! So, yesterday we put in the forward-facing car seat and she seemed to really enjoy being able to see mom and dad.

Audrey has pretty much been getting in to everything lately. She’s learning “no” but ignoring it a lot. She’ll say “ahh-ahh-ah” and then get it. Pretty funny.
She has also learned to climb on everything!

She enjoys “Helping” with the laundry, dishes, just about everything she can play with.
Thayne’s sister Ana and family were in town this week, so Audrey got to see her cousins Addison and Kileigh. It was the first time we’ve seen the new baby so we were excited! Audrey seemed to get along alright with them, but she had some jealousy issues having to “share” her aunts, uncle, grandpa, etc. Addison showed Audrey how to climb the stairs. She seemed to be interested in a baby that could walk, but wasn’t sure about Audrey sometimes I think. Sometimes you wonder if Addison knows what the heck Audrey is “talking” about with all her babble.

It is hard to believe that in only two months we will all be on vacation in Colorado! Audrey and Addison could maybe play together by that time (if Audrey is to that stage finally) and all of the cousins will be there…Looking forward to putting Audrey in her swim suit!

Happy Easter!

Doesn’t seem much like Easter when it’s in the thirties outside!

We spent Easter with the Osborne family out in Crescent. Audrey actually did some egg hunting! We dressed her down since it was cold and she wasn’t feeling that well. When it warms up, we’ll break out the Easter dress! Audrey got some “Candy” and a few toys. Her favorite thing in her basket was the pack of spoons. Grandpa and Grandma Osborne also got her a stuffed bunny, which she loves mostly because of the tag.

The family made Thayne hunt for eggs, so I think he found two. Everybody got one egg with a new gold dollar. Thayne was looking to make sure the writing was on the edge, which it was. During the egg hunt, we had to stop and check out the “crime scene” that was in Grandma’s garage. Apparently a coon was involved because you can see his prints in the blood…scary, huh? There are pictures, we just don’t have them right now. Maybe they will solve the mystery soon.

We spent most of the day relaxing and pondering the reasonings behind the Backyardigans. (“Why are the main three ALWAYS there, but the other two aren’t?” and “Why do the toys have ‘extra’ things that aren’t actually in the episodes”)  As you can tell, we have little to do…or little we are getting done, really. Sarah has to do a presentation about Meningitis Tuesday, but we’re procrastinating that until tomorrow!

Other than Easter, we’ve been busy as usual. Brother Ben is getting his yard going this week so Thayne’s going to help with that (except the rain may interrupt those plans). We are pretty depressed about the cold weather, but soon enough it will be warm again.

We’ve been working a lot, and Sarah is about done “Training” in Bookkeeping, so she returns to the lovely scanning department! I’m sure Thayne will be glad to have his desk back!

More later. Until then, keep on keeping on.

April Fools!

Well, I was gonna write a bunch of crap about how we bought a new SUV and a two-story house with at least one more bedroom…and we decided to get jobs out East, BUT, I decided that would take too much time because A) some people might not get that it was a joke and I’d have to re-explain it over and over and B) I have a lot to do!

Mostly, we get to report on how we feel now that Audrey is one. And by “We”, I mainly mean “me”, because Thayne just kinda gives me the “whatever” look when I say she’s too old. He agrees that she is growing too fast though! We’ve definatly got our hands full now that she is practically walking everywhere. And she’s getting less and less keen on the naps, which is sad for us! Why is it that you go your whole childhood hating naps and wishing you could stay up all day and all night…and then you get to be a college kid and you want to stay up all night and sleep all day…and finally, you are an adult, sad, parent and all you want to do, period, is sleep.?

Anyway, the new early schedule for Sarah is nice in some regards. We get a lot more home time together…and it is easier to plan things, like appointments, etc. Audrey has her one-year this week and we are hoping it is finally time to turn the car seat! She will probably like it much better when she can see us! Unfortunately, she’s only just over 18 pounds, so we may have to wait. And stuff her with fat.

School is trucking right along. We are finally over half way done! In about a year, Sarah can be a nurse, yeah! Hope it goes fast! Well, not much else to report. Thayne’s exciting news for the week: Blue Bunny still makes Mint BonBon!

Check out Audrey’s page for a load of photos and her b-day bash!

Happy Birthday To Audrey!

We can’t believe she’s one!
On Wednesday, her birthday, we let Audrey open the present she’s been itching to open for a week…a cabbage patch doll that she is scared to death of! She liked it in the box, but it must have been too real when we got it out. She’s coming around to it, though. Slowly. She also got to have some ice cream, which she LOVED.
Saturday, we had a little party for her with the family. It apparently got a little out of hand…

Long story short, the cops had nothing to do with her, but it was funny to think cops were at her first birthday party.
Other than that, Audrey played, opened gifts (which she wasn’t yet great at) and had some chocolate cupcake. Aunt Tasha made some cute ones–and Audrey thought it was fun to play with the strange-feeling pile of frosting on hers.
We brought all of the gifts home and she played her heart out.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted photos and, well, we’ve taken quite a few! Since it takes a little time to upload them all, I’ll end it here!
